Once a completed case is submitted to us (see “Submitting a Policy for Review“) our team of underwriters will evaluate your policy immediately. If your policy qualifies under our purchasing criteria, we will make an offer to purchase your policy. If you accept our offer, we will send you a package of documents (“closing package”) for your signature. We encourage you to review the closing package with your financial advisor, accountant, and/or attorney. Once you return the executed closing package to us, we will place the funds to purchase the policy in an escrow account at a national, FDIC-insured financial institution. At this point, the proper paperwork will be filed with the insurance company to change the ownership and beneficiary information. Once the insurance company confirms the changes, the funds will be released from the escrow account per your instructions. You will no longer be the owner of the policy, be able to designate a beneficiary, or have to pay any future premiums on the policy. Q Capital or one of its assignees will be the owner and beneficiary of the policy.
